Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
Gather all of your ingredients. You will need a pipe cleaner for each napkin ring that you plan to make. For some rings, we used only beads; for others, we added a leaf button. This craft could be changed up in so many ways and could work for every holiday by changing the bead colors.
Step 2
My daughter loves to thread beads (and the tasks help her improve her fine motor skills!). We sat together and experimented with different patterns to figure out what we liked the best.
Step 3
Once the beads are in place, twist the pipe cleaners to close and snip the ends or twist back down around the ring. Remember to leave enough room for your napkin to fit through. At one point, a napkin ring turned into a spyglass --and I think Emma may have enjoyed that even more than the napkin ring!
Final result!
These napkin rings were very special to make with my daughter. I love watching her creative mind start to make all sorts of different projects with just two basic art supplies.
