Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
We said the 'messiness meter' for this one was low... that's sans confetti blowing everywhere, of course! Maybe, like us, you'll decide the simplicity of the project makes up for it!
Step 2
First thing, Maddie folded the paper in half.
Step 3
She cut it along the fold line (so there were two halves of paper), then rolled one of them up, and secured the edge with glue. Long or short side--you decide!
Step 4
Next we needed to make a hole in the tube--Madeleine used the hole punch on what would be the top, going in as far as she could go. Then she stapled the very end of the tube, to close it off. Squash it flat and use tape to close it instead of stapling it, if you like.
Step 5
With the other half of the paper, she cut out a fan shape (to make a funnel), then made slits with scissors at the small end.
Step 6
Maddie put paste on one edge, and rolled it up to secure it, then flared out the bottom (the fringed edge).
Step 7
She pasted the fringe, and secured it to the tube, over the hole, folding the pieces around the blower.
Step 8
We'll take any reason that comes by to get out the fancy scissors, so out they came to make decorative trimmings for the blower.
Step 9
The only thing left to do was to make the confetti, and put it in the bowl!
Final result!
Ready??? One!... two...... Three!!!
