Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
Peel off the crayon wrappers. If you want the colors to be fall-ish, stick with red, orange, yellow, brown, and gold hues.
Step 2
Separate the broken crayons into baking mold. My tray is a Wilton fall one that I bought at Michaels for $10 (and then used a 50% coupon on it--it was a good deal!).
Step 3
Bake in the oven at 300 degrees for 20-25 minutes (or until completely melted). I set mine in a baking dish to make it easier to remove from the oven when they were ready.
Final result!
Allow the crayons to completely cool in the baking mold before removing the crayons. Then pop them out and color away! We give these as gifts a lot because kids love crayons...and this project breathes new life into broken pieces of crayons.
