Pretty Paper Trinket Bowl

If you're like me you just can not toss out those beautiful scraps of paper. We decided to do something with them on this day. Our pretty paper made a beautiful bowl that my daughter could keep all of her collected treasures in.

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

We collected all of our paper scraps and cut them into strips and squares. I blew up the balloon to the perfect size to make a little bowl.

  • Step 2

Emma got to work adding the paper onto the top half of the balloon using the Mod Podge.

  • Step 3

After the bowl shape was made and covered well with both paper and Mod Podge, we set it aside to dry. A placemat works well to dry on.

  • Step 4

When it was completely dry (it takes about one night) we popped our balloon. This was a pretty silly part for Emma.

  • Final result!

I added a ribbon around the edge using hot glue (that's a grown-up-only step) per Emma's request. I think it was the perfect touch for our special bowl!
