Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
We had some old pumpkin carving tools that worked well for this. We also found that sharpening one side of a popsicle stick on the ground makes for a great tool.
Step 2
First, Emma used a pencil to draw her image into the soap.
Step 3
She chose a flower. For younger kids, shapes with little details are the best for this craft.
Step 4
Next, she began to scrape away soap from around the flower. She was collecting all of her soap scraps as she did this. I think they ended up in her mud pie kitchen outside. Nothing wasted! I like that!
Step 5
I think she did a great job and she couldn't wait to use her fancy new soap.
Final result!
What a sweet gift this would make for Grandma or anyone special!
