Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

    Any small jar will do...a baby food jar or a small spice jar would work very nicely to hold your 'ink'.

  • Step 2

    First Madeleine took her scissors and made her quill point... she just cut the straw on an angle. Snip!

  • Step 3

    Into the end goes the feather! Maddie just put it in, but if you like you could squeeze a drop of glue into the end of the straw.

  • Step 4

    She wanted dark red ink, so she mixed red and a bit of black washable paint, adding a little water to thin it.

  • Final result!

    All done! So simple. She was so excited to have a new way to draw! We love discovering new ways to make lovely things.
