Circle Skirts

These darling skirts are simple and sweet...perfect for a dress-up party!

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

    Felt, scissors, and glue will be all you truly need for this--you add whatever else you think is necessary!

  • Step 2

    I started the skirts by cutting large circles from 8x10 pieces of felt.

  • Step 3

    We made the first skirts with a slit, and we glued on ribbon for ties. These were like wrap-around skirts. They can be worn by lots of different little friends.

  • Step 4

    Maddie had an applique that she chose from the craft store.... her first ironing job! Of course, for younger children, this would be a grown-up step.

  • Step 5

    For the no-glue skirts, I cut rounds, then bent them in half and cut small circles from the middle of the skirts for the waist. Madeleine had very definite ideas about how to decorate each skirt!

    Buttons, pompoms, stars, hearts, fringe...

    ...anything goes, and anything makes the skirts super cute!!
