Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
One evening, after I discovered this little trick, I added some large craft sticks to a pot of boiling water and let it boil for about 15 minutes.
Step 2
Once they were easy to bend, I knew they were ready. I slowly guided them into a jar that was about the size of a wrist. They sat overnight or until completely dry.
Step 3
Once dry, I popped them out of the jar and invited my kids over to paint away. They were thrilled and pretty excited that craft sticks could bend!
Step 4
They painted away and made some very colorful creations.
Final result!
We let them dry and then tried them on for size! Pretty cool if I do say so myself. My two-year-old gave one to each of his preschool teachers and he was very excited about that.
