Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
Before starting our color mixing activity, we laid down newspaper in our work area just in case of any spills. Next, we gathered the rest of our supplies together.
Step 2
We filled 4 clear plastic cups 3/4 of the way full of water and added a few drops of food coloring to each one. We then put a small amount of clear water in each section of the egg carton.
Step 3
We placed the eye droppers in the colored water and used them to dispense drops of each color into the clear water in the egg carton.
Step 4
It was really exciting to see what happened when we mixed different colors together.
Final result!
Pretty soon we a rainbow of colors unfolded in our egg cartons. When our egg cartons were full we just dumped out the water and started all over again!
