Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

Paint your entire hand (except your thumb) pink or red. Stamp it on the page to start making a pig. The fingers will be the legs of the pig so stamp the tops of your fingers close to the top of the page. When you turn the page over, the pig will be standing. In the picture we realized we did it the wrong way and would have a flying pig so we had to start over.

  • Step 2

Dip your finger in the paint and use it to draw a circle shaped head and a squiggly tail.

  • Step 3

Wash your hand and paint it with yellow or orange paint to make a chicken. Stamp your hand so the fingers (which will be the feathers) are pointing toward the pig.

  • Step 5

Wash your hand and paint your finger tips brown or black as well as painting dots on the palm of your hand. This will be the cow.

  • Step 6

Turn the paper so you can stamp your hand with your finger tips (which will be the cow's legs) pointing toward the bottom. Because we used white paper we had to paint in some extra details of the cow. The fingers are the legs and the thumb is the cow's tail.

  • Final result!

Let the paint dry and draw in details such as the pig's face, the chicken's face and feet, and the cow's face. Draw a barn, a sun and clouds, or a farmer to complete your farm scene.
