Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
Making colored rice is very simple. Just add rice to a ziplock bag with a few drops of food color and give it a shake. It comes in handy for many crafts and is pretty cool to just play within a bowl.
Step 2
We started making patches with the glue. We covered one at a time alternating the colors of rice.
Step 3
It was easy for my daughter to keep her "land" and "water" separate by working this way. After each patch was covered with rice she could shake off the excess rice and add another.
Final result!
Our final earth was so pretty and we decided it definitely needed a felt heart on top.
