Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
Gather your materials.
Step 2
To start your stitch, tie a knot on the backside of your canvas.
Tip
You can tuck the tail of the knot into your future stitches to hide it.
Step 3
Try a running stitch! Thread your yarn through one hole, then out the next, and so on.
Step 4
Try a continental stitch! This stitch makes its way up the canvas by going up and over diagonally.
Step 5
Try a back stitch. This stitch goes forward two and back one. You can use this technique to make other stitches look fuller.
Step 6
Try a cross stitch! This stitch is done by making little x’s all the way up your canvas.
Step 7
Try a long stitch! This stitch is great for covering a lot of area quickly. Continue to loop your thread around and around until your canvas is covered.
Step 8
Try a whip stitch! This stitch is great for the borders of your canvas. Thread your yarn through one hole, then out the next while wrapping it around your border.
Final result!
When you’re done stitching, simply tie a knot on the back side of your plastic canvas sheet & weave in the tail.
