Bubble Wrap Bee Hive

My husband brought home a bunch of bubble wrap for the kids to play with and, although bubble wrap can be entertaining by itself, I wanted to see if there were other ways to have fun with it.

I found this cute art project by House of Baby Piranha and thought we'd create our own bee hive.

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

First, we cut out our bubble wrap in the shape of the beehive. Then we painted the bubble wrap (bubble side up) with orange and yellow paints. We used two paint colors because it allows my son to give the bee hive more dimension, and he loves the creativity of using more than one color.

  • Step 2

Next, press your painted bubble wrap onto your paper.

And there you have it...a really simple and cute craft! My son really got into this craft--can you tell by the number of bees he made?
