Egg Carton Bumblebee

This sweet spring bumblebee is made with a recycled egg carton. My kids loved making these cute bees, flying them around the yard, and buzzing away!

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

First, we pulled apart a few egg cups from the egg carton.

  • Step 2

We twisted the pipe cleaner into the shape of wings and set it to the side.

  • Step 3

Next, I used a toothpick to poke two holes in each egg cup.

  • Step 4

The kids started painting those infamous bee stripes on. They talked about all the other bugs they could easily make this way. I think we have a new favorite craft in our house!

  • Step 5

Once dry, they added eyes and attached the wings by putting the ends of the pipe cleaner into the holes and twisting together on the inside.

  • Done!

Now this is the kind of bee I can "bee" friends with!
