Animal Bread Rolls

We always have rolls at brunch around our house, so I decided to mix it up and get creative with this table staple. I was surprised how easy it was to turn simple bread rolls into little balls of bread that looked like animals. I am sure you will have fun creating -- and snacking -- just like I did! My favorite was the little cat. What will yours be?

  • Step 2

Start with the bread dough. We bought some dinner roll dough and defrosted them, but you can make them from scratch if you have time!
Place the bread on a baking sheet and let the bread dough rise according to the instructions.

  • Step 3

Once the bread dough has risen, use a pair of clean scissors and create 2 large snips along the back of your bread. Then, gently pull them forward so they don't stick back down. These will become the ears of your creature!

  • Tip

Try different types of cuts to make different animals, such as short cuts for cat ears or long ones for bunny ears. You can even do multiple cuts for a spiked porcupine!

  • Step 4

Time to cook! Bake the bread rolls according to the instructions. We baked them until the tops were lightly golden.

Decorate your animal bread! We used a food decorating pen and created some cute little faces.
