Bread Animals

I always have ready made dough in my house. It is a great way to entertain little cooks in the kitchen during dinner prep. My daughter loves pretending she is a chef. With this dough we decided to shape some fun animals to be our dinner rolls. The kids had a lot of fun putting these little critters together.

We didn't have raisins so we used sunflower seeds, but raisins make for much better eyes.

  • Step 2

Emma began rolling the dough into balls and strips and experimented with putting them together to create some animal rolls. It was fun to see her get creative with each detail.

The plastic knife was very useful to add texture where needed and another way my daughter gets to feel a little more grown-up than she is! She loves that! We brushed our rolls with egg to get them nice and golden and baked them per our package directions.
