Step 1
Gather your materials!
Step 2
Start with the rope. Cross the right end over the left to create a loop.

Cross the left end over the right end to create a pretzel shape.
Step 4
Bring the right end underneath the left end.
Step 5
Take the left end of the rope and thread it through the left pretzel loop.
Step 6
Take the same end of the rope and thread it up through the middle of the pretzel.

Then, down through the right pretzel loop.
Step 8
Slowly and carefully pull both ends to tighten and create the Celtic heart knot.
Tip
Make the knot as many times as you need to to get a hang of it.
Step 9
Peel 3 strips off of your licorice rope and create Celtic heart knots with them.
Tip
Be gentle with the candy! It will pull apart much easier than the rope you practiced with.
Step 10
To make a necklace or a bracelet, lick the ends of the candy and stick them together.
Tip
If you’re feeling confident, try adding a second strip of candy by threading back through the first knot with a second one!
