Lavender Playdough

We are big fans of playdough and lavender in our house. Bringing them together seemed like the perfect way to create playdough for times when we are winding down from a busy day. You can just smell the relaxation!

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

A little bottle of lavender oil lasts forever and is a great addition to craft supplies. This dough is such a favorite in my house because it is very calming for the kids (and me!) to play with.

  • Step 2

Emma helped me to add all the ingredients (except the water, 1/4 c of flour, and the flowers) to a large bowl. Once she was done I boiled the water and poured it in directly on the salt. That is my little trick to help disintegrate the salt.

  • Step 3

Emma got to mixing. It gets a little hard as it all comes together.

  • Step 4

Once it looked like this we dumped it onto a cutting board. I kneaded, adding the remaining 1/4 cup of flour a little at a time until it was soft, but not sticky.

Lastly, we added some dried lavender flowers for the perfect touch. Smells delicious!
