Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

We have so many extra stickers at our house and this is the perfect activity to use them up! You can also find packs of foam stickers that include all of the primary colors at dollar stores or craft stores. Draw 6 Christmas trees and put a different color star on top of each one. I used a star paper puncher and taped the star to the top, but you could use star stickers or draw the stars with markers.

  • Step 2

Simply have your child take off each sticker (love this for fine motor skills practice) and stick it onto the tree with the matching colored star. My little princess was disappointed that there wasn't a pink tree.

  • Step 3

I like how this activity also gave her a chance to be creative by "decorating" it in whichever way she wanted. On one of the trees she stacked the stickers on top of one another and on others she grouped certain stickers together.

  • Final result!

After all of the stickers were sorted and the trees were decorated, Natalie decided she wanted to color the trees with matching colored markers. So fun!
