Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
I assembled all of our ingredients on a tray. This makes a great treat for a class Thanksgiving party...or you can just make a few for a special family snack.
Step 2
First, the kids spread chocolate frosting on a cracker. I showed them how to support the cracker and spread gently so the cracker doesn't break into pieces.
Step 3
Next, they counted out five candy corns for each turkey and placed them in a fan shape for the tail feathers, with the pointy side down and the tops of the candy corn sticking up a bit from the cracker.
Step 4
Next, they placed a Hershey's kiss in the center of the cracker, just below the candy corn tail feathers.
Step 5
Our next step was to dip another candy corn into the frosting and then smoosh it on top of the Hershey's kiss to make the turkey's head.
Step 6
We lay the turkeys on a wax paper-covered plate and put the little gobblers in the fridge for about 10 minutes to cement the frosting before getting them to stand up (see next two steps).
Step 7
Next, we placed another Hershey's Kiss on our tray, one for each turkey. This will serve as a little stand for the turkey to lean on. A little bit of icing on the back of the cracker will hold the turkey onto this Hershey's Kiss.
Step 8
We used a tube of yellow icing with a fine writing tip to make two little dots for eyes.
Final result!
We propped our turkeys up onto their Hershey's Kiss stands and our platter of Turkey Kisses was ready to go! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
