Little White Duck

Maddie and I both cooed over this darling Little White Duck made from handprints and tissue... show him off by himself, or give him a pond to play in!

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

    If you don't have black or orange construction paper, just color or paint them on a white piece of paper.

  • Step 2

    Another project with sweet little hand prints. Mamas sure do love that! One hand Maddie traced by herself, the other she needed help with. We needed one footprint, too.

  • Step 3

    Madeleine cut them out....

  • Step 4

    and then pasted the handprints to the back of the shoe-print body.

  • Step 5

    The next step was to make feathers! She pulled apart the two-ply tissue,

    then put glue in a large area, and started tearing off bits of tissue and sticking them to the paper.

  • Step 7

    When her duck was all fluffed up, she drew and cut out eyes, a beak, and feet,

    and glued them into place.

  • Step 9

    She wanted him to have a background, so we got a piece of plain paper wet, and she blotted on green for grass, and blue for water. Now he had a home.
