Homemade Body Paint

Get creative, get messy, and have fun with homemade body paint!

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

Get your kids involved in helping you make the homemade body paint. Pour 1 cup of cornstarch in a bowl. I had the kids put all of the ingredients in a big pot because it will eventually need to be heated on the stove (by an adult).

Finally, add 1 teaspoon of salt. Put the pot on the stove and stir over medium to medium high heat. The mixture will thicken. Keep stirring. For us, it was the right consistency right before it started to boil. It's ready when it looks like smooth pudding.

  • Step 5

Let the paint cool! Divide it between bowls. You will have enough for 4-6 bowls. Add 3-5 drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix.
