Pool Noodle Toss

Transform the ordinary ring toss to a giant outdoor game. This activity is super quick to set up and perfect for entertaining kids and adults alike! It kept my high-energy boys entertained for hours, which was the perfect afternoon activity. All you need are a few pool noodles and wooden dowels to get started.

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

    Start by sticking some dowels into the ground. Ours were about 2 feet long.

  • Tip

    To adjust the size, have an adult help cut the dowel down to the desired length.

  • Step 2

    Place a pool noodle over the dowel. You may need to cut the pool noodle in half if it is too tall. This will be your target!

  • Step 3

    To make a tossing ring, cut a piece of dowel to 4 inches long.

  • Step 4

    Connect the two ends of a pool noodle with the 4 inch dowels.

  • Step 5

    Use duct tape to secure the two ends to each other. For more fun, create several rings in different colors.

  • Final result!

    Stand back and toss the rings onto the pool noodle target! Challenge a friend to see who can throw more rings onto the pool noodle.
