Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
Gather small metal objects such as a key, paper clip, hair clip, bracelet, or ring. It is fun to experiment with what will work and what won't.
Step 2
Put an object underneath a piece of paper. Use the side of the crayon to rub over it. An outline of the object will appear. This is the part where we experimented. Some things came out great on the paper and others were harder to rub with the crayon.
Step 3
Now mix up the objects and challenge a friend or sibling to match the objects to the outline to complete the puzzle.
Final result!
This was my favorite part of the activity. My son was so proud that he had done the rubbing technique to make a collage and felt like he was challenging his sister to complete the puzzle. My daughter thought it was super cool that she could complete the puzzle that her big brother had made for her.
