Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
I completed the bulk of the work before my son joined me. To start, I placed some of our family photos in lamination sheets that I picked up from our local discount store. I was careful to press my finger around the edge of each photo to create a tight seal. Then I cut around the pictures leaving about a quarter of an inch border to keep the lamination seal secure.
Step 2
I knew that turning normal pictures into silly faces would be new for my son so I made a few samples of things he could do to give some inspiration. I have to admit that it was hard to stop. It was so much fun adding spiky fangs and monkey ears to ordinary pictures.
Final result!
Finally, it was my son's turn to join in the excitement. I handed over the Vis-a-Vis marker and let him begin. When he was finished, he simply used the wet sponge to wipe away his lines and then dried the top with a paper towel. In two simple steps, he was ready to create a new silly face. My hunch was correct: This activity was a huge hit in our house and I hope that it brings a few giggles to your family too.
