Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

First gather up the supplies. We used a box from the recycling bin, tinfoil, sticky-backed foam, and markers.

  • Step 2

We started by wrapping the small box in tin foil like you would wrap a present. I did this for my son since he didn't know how to do that part.

  • Step 3

Together we added some wings to the sides by sticking the sticky foam together and then sticking it to the ship.

Then my five-year-old got to decorating his space ship. He liked cutting and sticking the foam in whatever design he wanted. He even made up stories to go along with his design.

Then he was off outside to play with his new space ship. Up, up, and away!
