Batik Wrapping Cloths
Discover the ancient Indonesian art of batik, and create colorful wrapping cloths that are to dye for. Use an artisan’s tool called a tjanting to guide melted wax along the fabric and draw a unique design. Dye the fabric in eye-catching colors, and remove the wax to see your brilliant work of art. Then learn how to artfully wrap your cloths around gift boxes, books, and more. A tied and true artform — reimagined for the modern maker!

End product was great but it’s a really messy project and hard to clean up if you accidentally drip wax or dye. Also need a microwave.

I did this with my daughter and grandson and had so much fun. It was a great way to spend time together, learn about something new and interesting, and also be creative. It took a while to find the instructions, but once we did, it went smooth.
