Sensory Dough

My little one had so much fun with the sensory dough box! He loves the bright colors and thinks the scents are amazing. We had fun making this together!

My 3 year old enjoyed putting everything into the bowl but it required too much stirring and he lost interest. The dough itself was hard for him to minupulate and even adding water as suggested didn't help much. I added a little water at a time and then it just became goo-like. I like the idea of incorporating smell in the dough though! 

This was such a fun crate, my kids love play doh, to make their own was a great surprise for them! 

This was fun came out a bit dry but love that there were suggestions in the instructions to remedy this. The smells didn’t come through too well though. They are very faint. They kit was amazing and had absolutely everything. I did this activity with 2 2 year olds and they loved it!!!

My 3y girl loved working with her hands. She did all colors separate and then made a rainbow by mixing them all. It was such a fun way to explore smells, texture and colors.

This was a bit of a miss for me. The flour mixture was hard for my 3.5 year old to stir and mix thoroughly. I needed to add a lot of water to get it to be a smooth consistency, and my dough still turned out grainy. I could have done this with household materials but just paid for the convenience of having everything pre-measured. 

This project was fun for the 3 1/2 year old grandchild.  Grandchild liked the stirring and the end product.  Grandchild liked picking out the color and scent that we would make.  The dough needed enough stirring/kneading that grandchild grew tired of doing it and the adults finished that portion of the project.  Grandchild did like playing with the dough once it was completed.  Grandchild made 2 of the 3 colors on 2 different days.  We plan to use the 3rd color/scent in the future.  More information about whether the dough should be dry, tacky, wet, etc. may have been helpful.

My three year old grandson loved this project. It did require lots of adult help but we were able to enjoy the process three different times and he returned to it several times each day to enjoy it. The fragrances were subtle and he wasn’t tempted to taste them!
