- The echidna, or spiny anteater, is one of Earth's oldest surviving species. These shy and solitary creatures can be found throughout Australia. They are among the few types of mammals that give birth by laying eggs. Once they hatch, echidna babies are called "puggles"!

Vegemite is a salty, dark brown paste that is incredibly popular Down Under, and not many other places. Since 1922, more than a billion jars of Vegemite have been produced, and about 98% of them were sold in Australia.

- This natural granite formation in Western Australia looks like an enormous ocean wave that's about to crash. Scientists say the rock is more than 2 billion years old. Over the years, weathering and water erosion have shaped the stone into a humongous curve. If Wave Rock were a real 49 foot (15 m) high wave, it would be a guaranteed wipe out for almost any surfer.
