      Animals: Atlantic Puffin

    1. Along the western coast of England, you might spot an Atlantic Puffin flying above the ocean. These orange-beaked birds can dive 200 feet (61 m) down into the sea to capture fish and crabs. They’re also known to stash their many catches of the day in their beak for later — holding up to ten fish in their mouth at once!

      Food: Yorkshire Pudding

    1. Don’t let the word “pudding” fool you — Yorkshire pudding is a fluffy, airy, and savory delicacy. Think of it as a popover that you eat with meat and gravy. The higher the batter rises during the baking process, the better the pudding! But would-be bakers beware — the Royal Society of Chemistry has declared that rounds must rise to at least 4 inches (10 cm) high to qualify as true Yorkshire puddings.

      Awesomeness: The Snickelways of York

    1. About 30 years ago, an author from the city of York combined the words “snicket” (a passageway between walls) and “alleyway” to create his very own word. His invention caught on quickly, and now everyone calls the small, narrow streets of York snickelways!
