Homemade Whipped Cream and Fruit Treat

My children love to be in the kitchen cooking with me. This gives us great opportunities to create healthy versions of some of our favorite treats. We used a little honey to sweeten this cream. Along with some fruit this was a great summer treat.

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

This recipe is very simple and can be adjusted pretty easily depending on how sweet you like it. We used about 1 cup of heavy whipping cream and 1 tbs of honey.

  • Step 2

We used our stand mixer, but a hand mixer will work as well. Emma added the cream and turned the mixer on high-speed. It thickens up pretty quickly, so keep an eye on it. We accidentally made butter in the past, which was also fun!

  • Step 3

Once we had a nice soft peak, we added our honey and turned the mixer on low just long enough to incorporate the honey.

  • Step 4

We used small jars to make our desserts in. My little one added some different fruits like blueberries, peaches and bananas.

  • Step 5

We layered with fruit and the whip cream until the jars were full.
