Step 1
We make our own colored sparkling sugar because it's so easy to make!

Maddie and Trev each poured a half cup of sugar into their bowls, then added a few drops of coloring.
Step 3
Stir, add color, stir and add a couple more drops... we did that until their color was just right.
Step 4
Add in a half cup of oats.
Step 5
We mixed them in bowls, but for easy (er--and less messy!) mixing after you color the sugar, you could put them in jars with lids or seal the ingredients in a ziplock for mixing.
Step 6
We put the mixture in storage jars--after tasting it, of course. "Do you think it will make me fly?" asked Madeleine.
Step 7
We then tied on pretty ribbons.
Final result!
