Animal Leaf Friends

My daughter loves leaves and animals so I decided to show her what the two look like together in this fun nature art project!

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

    After collecting some leaves outside, my daughter began by gluing each leaf on white paper with a glue stick.

  • Step 2

    I told her the leaves would be the animals' bodies and she had fun placing them around the paper.

  • Step 3

    My daughter wanted to add grass first, so she used a marker and went for it!

  • Step 4

    I asked her what kind of animals she wanted. She said "bug", so I did this part for her since she is almost 3 years old. Older kids could draw their own! I used the leaf as the body and drew a bug for her.

  • Step 5

    Next, she said "bear"! She did some of the background and I drew a bear. It was fun working together.

  • Final result!

    Next, she said she wanted a "dinosaur"! She wanted him to be green. We had a lot of fun turning nature into animal leaf friends!
