Step-by-step tutorial
- Step 1- We used heavy green card stock to be sure the little snake could withstand two-year old hands! I cut the card stock into strips and rounded one side for the head and pointed the other side for the tail. Older kids can easily do this step themselves.
- Step 2- Next the kids got to folding their snakes accordion style, but leaving the head and tail straight.
- Step 3- My daughter added eyes and a small piece of ribbon for a tongue.
- Step 4- We taped a straw to the back of the snake on each end. Popsicle sticks would probably work well too if you don't have straws around.
- Final result!- Our snakes were complete and fun to wiggle around and curl up (that was Emma's favorite part.) There was a lot of hissing little snake voices as they acted out a snake version of Little Red Riding Hood. I don't know where they come up with this stuff!
