Behind the design

The anglerfish is a perfect example to show how bioluminescence is a functional feature. The lure glows to attract dinner, so we made a light-up plush that blinks off when you chomp!

I got this for my granddaughter's 8th birthday. She collects stuffed animals, and particularly likes the "quirky," non-traditional ones. She LOVES this puppet!! It's become one of her favorites.

We opted to get our son a special box instead of our usual monthly crate. I just knew he would love it. Unfortunately when he first opened it he was a bit upset because there was no activity to make/build. He did warm up quickly to the crate when he realized the angler fish lit up so it was still great. I just think I would have been willing to spend a little bit more for an activity of some sort to be included. Other than that very minor complaint, he loved it!

The kids loved playing with one of their favorite creatures that they already know all about from watching Wild Kratts.
