Handwoven Baskets

We liked working with the dye and that it was a skill we had never done before. My daughter liked being able to work on it independently and have a place to store her treasures at the end.

She liked picking her own colors and liked the general concept of weaving. Wished there were more weaving material

I liked how, even though there were templates, my daughter was able to use her creativity to make different patterns and colors and truly make it her own design.

I would send at least one strand of pre-dyed yard. It was really hard for my daughter to wait so long to dye the yarn, when all she wanted to do was weave. She ended up using a marker to color the yarn in a pattern once woven:)

Everything about this project was delightful. The instructions were easy to follow. Dyeing the material became a point of learning and the finished product gave opportunity to keep one and share as a gift. On one basket a name was monogrammed in for a gift. Doodle Crate is one of the best investments for fun and learning or, better said, making learning fun!!

My granddaughter was able to create the baskets with no adult help. The directions were clear and concise.
