Like the product, but received it with no sleeve.
Also it would be nice to have the box big enough to store it if it's a game for future use.

My 3.5 year old loved this kit! She tracked the weather for weeks after it arrived. Definitely one of our favorites!

3 yr old granddaughter had a great time putting her ship together and trying the 2 sails. We must have spent an hour fanning to make wind so her ship would sail across the floor. As she is 3, she has a short attention span. So we have fun projects for another day. Love all the kits we have gotten so far!


I love being able to experiment and work on these projects with my son. He really likes to take them to the next level and make new projects and games out of them. 

Creative and lasts a long time

Anything that can teach a 2 year old some physics is pretty nifty, plus weather and engineering all in one box.  Our kiddo loved it but the excitement was quickly met with frustration and some Daddy fabrication (more on that below).  This crate really had it all: arts, creativity, physics, cause and effect, and finally some engineering.

The problem lies with the wheel and axle system that is the lynch pin of the whole apparatus.  It starts fine but within a day of play the imperfections of  the system fail.  The wheels aren't held in by much and as they are not quite perfectly round, nor is the whole perfectly centered and ultimately the wheels begin to cant and it takes a blower to move this thing.  The idea was solid, the multiple sails were nifty so a little balsa wood, metal axle and same wooden wheels, with a thin layer of adhesive rubber made this thing fun for a good deal longer.   I went ahead and provided some additional materials for additional sails so that drag and efficiency could also be realized.

My son loved the wind car and was so excited every morning to check the weather and chart it. We also did some of the recommended DIYs. So fun!

Projects and DIYs

Seeing her expression when she opens her new Koala Crate is priceless. She always gets so excited when it comes in the mail. The Wind Crate was super fun!

A cute crate theme. We loved making the windsock with all of the cool colors. Now we go and look at it on our porch every night!

Highlight of the week

Getting my daughter involved in the weather chart has been awesome! Seeing her analyze the weather and choose the right stickers is great. I love seeing her little mind think. We love the Koala Crate.
