Craft Stick Dolls

This open-ended project leaves room for lots of creativity. Kids can draw themselves, their family, or a whole crowd of friends!

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

    Gather your materials.

  • Step 2

    Decorate the first craft stick with hair. Use the black pen or black marker to draw a face.

  • Step 3

    Cut out a thin strip of paper (about 2 inches long) for each doll. Paint a thin layer of Mod Podge on the craft stick and let it dry for a few seconds. Glue the paper on the stick and let it dry completely.

  • Final result!

    Once the paper has dried, use the black pen to add details, like a collar, buttons, or pockets. You can also glue on more paper strips to create a skirt or pants. Use your markers and pen to finish the doll by drawing legs and shoes. How many different dolls can you create?
