  • Step 2

Take a pencil and draw a heart on a piece of white paper. Make sure to size it to fit your mug. You can also print out our heart shape template.

  • Step 3

Place a sheet of contact paper over the heart. You should be able to see the heart through the contact paper. Holding the contact paper and the white paper together, carefully cut out the heart shape. If you need extra help, you can also tape the two sheets together.

  • Step 4

Peel the backing off the contact paper and place your heart sticker on your mug.

  • Step 5

With a paint pen, outline the heart shape with a line of small dots. Starting with this step will help define your shape.

  • Final result!

Once you have your initial shape marked, draw more dots. We kept the dots tightly clustered near the heart to help emphasize the shape. We loved making each mug unique with different shapes and colors -- a perfect way to create a custom gift for friends or family!
