Marble Paper Weight

We always have air-dry clay around. It is great for little hands that enjoy sculpting and saving their little creations. My daughter wanted to make a special paper weight to give to her Grandma. She called her creation a "treasure" paper weight...I think because the marbles looked like gemstones.

    • Step 1

I had these tiny marbles left over from a floral project. Emma's had her eyes on these marbles for a while now, so I knew she'd love them for this project.

    • Step 2

First she kneaded away at the dough to soften it up.

    • Step 3

She rolled the dough into a large ball and flattened one side. Then it was time to "add the pretty" to it! Both my kids (ages 2 and 5) enjoyed pushing the marbles into the clay.

Wow! This was so simple to make and came out so very pretty. It almost looks like a turtle shell, doesn't it?
