Chalkboard Necklace

I think chalk is one of our favorite art materials to use. So, making a chalkboard necklace was over-the-top exciting for my kids! Who wouldn't love an accessory that can be personalized each day?

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

    Wooden domino pieces worked perfectly for this. Any small wooden game piece will work great! I even toyed around with the idea of using a round wooden coin.

  • Step 2

    My daughter painted each domino with chalkboard paint. We did about 2-3 coats to be sure to get a nice writing surface.

  • Step 3

    When the dominos were dry, we attached a long piece of twine to the back with a piece of masking tape.

  • Step 4

    Emma was so excited to start personalizing her charms! She thought this was the coolest thing ever and was thrilled to make some for all of her cousins and friends.

  • Final result!

    Our chalkboard necklaces turned out so precious. Such a fun project and a great gift!
