Log Cabin Pictures

With President's day around the corner, we decided to do some crafts that reflect on presidents of old, like the log cabin Abraham Lincoln grew up in. It was a simple craft the kids loved.

Materials you'll need

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

Gather up your supplies. You will need construction paper for the base, as well as small scraps cut in window, chimney, and door shapes (or whatever else the kids would like to decorate with). You'll also need popsicle sticks, glue, and cotton balls, which are optional. (We used them for smoke puffs.)

  • Step 2

Start by gluing the popsicle sticks down on the paper in the shape of a cabin. My 5-year-old loved the freedom of designing his own cabin.

Glue on a door, windows, and chimney if desired. Add anything else you would like to decorate with. Then you're done!
