Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
First, we got together some empty rolls. You can use toilet paper tubes or (if you're like us) cut paper towel tubes in half.
Step 2
We found all sorts of festive treasures to fill up our tubes. Stickers and fun erasers seemed to be a favorite this year.
Step 3
My daughter's an avid gift wrapper (sometimes she wraps things for me that are mine!)--so she loved wrapping up each tube.
Step 4
Next, we closed one end with some ribbon...
Step 5
...then filled up the other end with trinkets. (This step was a fun task for my two-year-old).
Step 6
Then my five-year-old wrapped up the other end. There you have it: so simple, easy, and--most of all--so much fun!
Final result!
They were ready to be cracked open and we definitely had to test one out!
