Step-by-step tutorial
Step 1
We used a wreath that we had, but you can also cut a ring from a piece of cardboard. It will turn out just as colorful and sweet. All those scrap ribbons you have - now have a use too.
Step 2
We sat as a family, cut ribbon and talked about what kinds of things we felt were acts of kindness.
Step 3
We added all of our ribbon to a jar and kept it close by to easily add ribbons when we were caught being kind!
Step 4
I hung the wreath in a good spot that everyone could easily reach. The first few days the children would constantly call out to me and say "Did you see me being kind, mama?" After the initial excitement wore off and we had some practice on how this would work they eased up on calling out all of their kind acts.
Step 5
Over the next few weeks our wreath kept getting fuller with each day. It was really nice to see everyone in the family really taking notice to kind behavior from each other and actually pointing it out.
Final result!
Once our wreath was full we moved it to our front door. It was a proud symbol of all the kind acts that made this wreath so beautiful.
