Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

Gather your supplies together. Choose a variety of papers in valentine colors, find an old book from the thrift store that you don't mind using pages from or a magazine to cut up.

  • Step 2

Cut out rectangles or pennant shapes from the book pages to use as the base for your bunting. Leave a little bit of extra space along the top to be able to fold over and hang. Cut hearts out of colored paper. You can add buttons, stickers, etc. to decorate the hearts. Attach a heart to each piece of the bunting using glue.

Attach your bunting shapes to a string for hanging. Do this by folding the top edge over the string and stapling. The bunting pieces will be free to slide along the string so you can position them as needed. Once all the pieces are added you're ready to hang up your Valentine's Day bunting or give it as a gift.
