Magical Keys

We have a new favorite! Not only was my daughter more excited than ever to make her very own magical keys, but the imaginative play that was sparked afterwards was priceless. Magical doors opened. There were fairies, a princess and more. Who new a set of old keys could do so much?

Step-by-step tutorial

  • Step 1

    We all have that drawer of old keys and if you don't head to an antique store...they do! Some tacky glue and beads is all we needed to turn our keys into magic.

  • Step 2

    Emma covered the top portion of each key with a layer of tacky glue.

  • Step 3

    Emma added gems, sequins and tiny little beads. Then we let them dry overnight. During this craft I was repeatably told how much she loved this. That made me so happy.

  • Final result!

    Now for the fun. Once dry I did nothing but, hand them over. The amazing imaginative play that came from just a set of keys made my heart smile and cry a little...happy tears though.
