This month, you and your baby will explore:
vision
Newborns can only see about 8-12 inches away. While their vision will sharpen as they grow, large shapes and patterns in high-contrast colors fascinate them in the meantime.
hearing
At first your baby is startled by loud noises but is soothed by soft sounds. As their neck muscles strengthen, they’ll turn their head when you speak or sing, smiling in response.
gross motor
Newborns have weak muscles and can't control their movements voluntarily, relying on reflexes. In the first 2 months, babies develop muscle control from head to toe (literally)!
fine motor
When babies curl their fingertips around your pinky it’s called the palmar grasp reflex, and it's a milestone essential for developing the fine motor muscles of the hand.
language & communication

attention & focus
